My name is Verity McFadden, and I live in Brainerd, Minnesota. I love reading and collecting books, writing, and I also have a soft spot for animals and the outdoors.
Educational Background
I graduated from Central Lakes College in the fall of 2022 with an AA degree and a GPA of 3.0-4.0. I am currently attending St. Cloud State University, working toward my Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications. I made it onto the Dean’s List for Fall 2025.
Professional Summary
My educational background has given me strong experience in conducting research and writing professionally. I have gained a valuable skill set, including time management, working under tight deadlines, creative writing, and written communication. On the other hand, my job has given me similar skills and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
My Professional Goals
My professional goals are to apply my abilities in a work environment that will help my skills flourish and to further develop my writing skills, as I aim to become an author in the future. For now, I hope to find work that suits the skills I have learned and mastered in college.

My Professional Interests
Interests-wise, I aim to bring reliability, open-mindedness, and creativity into the workplace. I am especially motivated by working on my own, but I am open to working with a team and do enjoy communicating and being open with team members. My main professional interest is writing, whether as an author, blogger, or in any job that focuses on the written word and communication.
Professional Experience
My professional experience has mostly been related to the classes I am taking at St. Cloud State University and my job. Classes like Communication in the Workplace, Intro to Mass Media Writing, Ethics in Human Communication, and even Creative Writing Fiction have taught skills that will be useful in a workplace that I eventually aim for.
These classes have also taught me how to conduct research more effectively, communicate with teachers and fellow students, develop interview skills, and present via Zoom. All my classes have given me new things to learn and experiences that will help in my career journey.
I have been working at McDonald’s for the last 7 years, which has given me strong experience working in a team-driven, fast-paced environment and communicating effectively.
